AVP, Reinsurance Reserving Actuary

Location: New York, New York

Join Our Team

We seek a highly motivated, performance-oriented individual to join as AVP, Reserving Actuary. Reporting to the Chief Reserving Actuary, this role involves collaboration with actuarial teams in the US and internationally.

Responsibilities include:

1. Significant involvement in SiriusPoint’s quarterly loss reserving process, including applying actuarial techniques to estimate liabilities, producing high-quality reserving estimates, and supporting financial reporting (GAAP, US, Bermuda statutory).
2. Preparing analyses and reports, communicating results to management and stakeholders, and supporting profitability through reserving-pricing feedback.
3. Innovating and improving reserving processes, preparing and validating data, and training junior team members.

Qualifications:

• Actuarial credential (e.g., FCAS, ACAS) or progress towards one.
• 5+ years in loss reserving, with experience in programs and/or reinsurance preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting and finance is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and a proven high-performance track record.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and possess programming skills (SQL, Python, R) preferred.

Salary Range: $170,000 to $185,000 annually, based on experience and other factors.
