Job summary

Howden is seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP), Pharmacy to act as a strategic pharmacy consultant for employer clients, leading PBM procurement, financial analyses, and market assessments. The role oversees day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Analytics practice supporting Howden’s middle market teams.

The ideal candidate has PBM experience in health plans or pharmacy consulting, proficiency in financial modeling, and strong client-facing skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in pharmacy consulting, PBM or related roles.
• Strong PBM contracting, rebate programs, pricing methodologies.
• Advanced pharmacy financial modeling using large claims data.

Responsibilities

• Advise employer clients on pharmacy benefit strategy and cost management.
• Lead PBM market checks, renewals, procurement, and RFP processes.
• Oversee Pharmacy Analytics practice operations for middle market teams.
• Manage PBM RFP intake, rebates, market checks, and contract reviews.
• Develop models to evaluate PBM proposals and quantify vendor savings.
