Job description

In an increasingly complex world where people are starving for someone they can trust, we stand for something simple: always put the client first. We do well by doing good for those we serve. It's the ultimate measure. We believe in providing value beyond a doubt and in the notion that time will either expose you or promote you, based on your willingness to embrace change.

We serve financial advisors and investors through three entities, each headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska: Carson Wealth, Carson Coaching and Carson Partners. We provide coaching and partnership services to advisor firms - and straightforward financial advice to the investing public. We all share a common mission to be the most trusted in financial advice.

Who We Want

Generate acquisition opportunities through prospecting, industry relationships, regional events, and the Carson network. Build and maintain relationships with investment bankers and other referral sources in the independent and hybrid wealth management communities. Support the acquisition process from initial prospect engagement through a signed letter of intent, and collaborate with transaction and integration teams to advance opportunities through closing. Apply industry knowledge and an understanding of competitors, financial analysis, valuation, and deal structure to support acquisition growth. Achieve individual and team activity and sales targets while supporting senior M&A leadership.

What To Expect
  • Prospecting & Relationship Development: Identify acquisition prospects and generate leads through direct outreach, networking, events, and the Carson network. Build and maintain relationships with investment bankers, third-party recruiters, and other referral sources to expand Carson Wealth's office network and achieve quarterly and annual targets.
  • Pipeline & Sales Management: Partner with senior M&A leadership to build and manage the acquisition pipeline. Support the sales process from prospecting through a signed letter of intent. Maintain consistent follow-up, follow established sales processes, and achieve individual and team activity and sales targets on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Transaction & Integration Support: Collaborate with the M&A transaction lead during due diligence and integration planning to keep opportunities on track for closing. Coordinate with integration stakeholders to ensure teams have the information and resources needed to prepare acquired businesses for integration.
  • Marketing & Events: Coordinate with marketing and sales enablement stakeholders to support campaigns and follow up on prospect engagement. Partner with event organizers to coordinate Home Office Visit events and encourage prospect attendance. Collaborate with business development stakeholders to advance acquisition opportunities.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Apply an understanding of financial analysis, valuation, and deal structure to support acquisition discussions and opportunity evaluation. Assist in preparing board presentations and other materials for senior M&A and sales leadership.
  • Professional Development & Company Standards: Participate in weekly sales meetings, sales training, and continuing education. Demonstrate behaviors aligned with Carson's core values and perform additional responsibilities that support profitable business growth. Travel nationally and work occasional weekends as business needs require.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational objectives.
What You Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Series 65 license preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of successful recruiting, M&A analysis, transaction execution, or equivalent experience in the financial services industry required.
  • Clean U-4 and U-5 history, as applicable, required.
  • Demonstrated track record of generating leads and achieving activity and sales objectives required.
  • Thorough knowledge of the wealth management industry, including independent and hybrid advisory firms and key competitors in the acquisition marketplace, required.
  • Established relationships with investment bankers and other acquisition referral sources required.
  • Understanding of financial analysis, valuation, and deal structure required.
