Job summary

Financial Center First Credit Union invites applications for the AVP, Member Growth to drive HSA sales, member engagement, and strategic growth. You will lead the HSA Sales and Implementation Team and the Inbound/Outbound Relationship Sales Team, delivering exceptional member experiences and achieving production targets.

You will mentor leaders, manage budgets, and partner across departments to expand membership, deposits, and lending while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in HSA, member experience, outside sales, retail delivery, and lending.
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience leading teams and achieving objectives, ideally in financial services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HSA Sales and Implementation Team to achieve production and service goals.
  • Oversee relationship sales teams and drive growth in deposits, lending, and memberships.
  • Coach and develop high-performing teams with accountability for results.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and use data analytics to drive improvements.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Vice President of Member Growth is expected to embody our vision of inspiring financial wellness and delivering high-quality service to both internal and external members. The Assistant Vice President of Member Growth is responsible for leading the Credit Union's Health Savings Account (HSA) Sales and Implementation Team and the Inbound and Outbound Relationship Sales Team. This position develops and executes strategies to grow membership, deposits, lending, and HSA programs while delivering exceptional member experience. The AVP provides leadership, coaching, and performance management to ensure sales goals are achieved, implementation processes are executed efficiently, and member relationships are strengthened through proactive outreach and consultative financial solutions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, mentor, coach, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Accountable for managing operating expenses within approved budgets, identifying opportunities for efficiency, and adjusting plans to meet organizational goals, while supporting strong financial performance.
  • Lead the Relationship Team Manager and HSA team in achieving their individual and team goals.
  • Accountable for achieving established production, growth, member engagement, and operational performance goals across assigned departments.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products including deposit and lending products, services, and processes.
  • Use strong interpersonal skills and influence to achieve sales goals. Overcomes objections with persuasion and persistence. Display confidence in presenting appropriate solutions to fit members’ needs.
  • Monitor HSA portfolio performance, implementation metrics, sales activity, and client satisfaction, using data analytics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to grow the Credit Union's Health Savings Account (HSA) portfolio through new employer partnerships, expanded member participation, and increased account utilization.
  • Lead and oversee the HSA Sales and Implementation Team, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development to achieve production and service goals.
  • Foster a culture of consultative sales, accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional service within the HSA and Relationship team.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, security and compliance programs, including but not limited to BSA, AML, OFAC, security, and safety, exercising awareness regarding suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year (4) college or university.
  • Minimum (7) years of progressive experience in HSA, member experience, outside sales, retail delivery, and lending.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of leadership experience with demonstrated success leading teams, developing talent, managing performance, and achieving organizational objectives, ideally within financial services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with the ability to effectively utilize a variety of business, financial, and industry-specific software applications.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT STANDARDS & EXPECTATIONS
Work is primarily performed in an office environment using standard business equipment, with workspaces that are typically climate controlled. This role may require occasional lifting or moving of items up to 15 pounds. The position involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and frequent use of hands for tasks such as typing and operating office equipment. Unobstructed vision and hearing are essential to effectively perform job functions.
This role requires strong cognitive and interpersonal abilities, including attention to detail, sound judgment, problem-solving, effective communication, and the ability to analyze information and manage multiple priorities. Success in this position also requires initiative, adaptability, and the ability to remain focused and composed in a dynamic work environment.
