Job summary

LPL Financial seeks a hands-on Lead Software Engineer, AVP, to build, scale, and optimize cloud-native AWS applications. This individual contributor role will be ~80% hands-on coding and ~20% technical leadership, with strong C#/.NET and Java capabilities required.

The position requires collaboration with Product teams, architecture, and security, while mentoring the team and guiding SDLC practices. Hybrid work from Charlotte/Fort Mill or NYC/Midtown two to three days weekly, with base salary

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong C#/.NET and Java experience for enterprise apps
• 5+ years AWS and cloud-native development experience

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high-volume, low-latency apps for mission-critical systems using C#, AngularJS, jQuery, and MS SQL Server 2022
• Collaborate with Product Owners to translate business challenges into technical solutions
• Conduct technical risk assessments and document recommendations
• Coordinate solution design with Architecture, Data, Infrastructure and Business teams
• Coach and mentor team; ensure comprehensive technical docs per SDLC guidelines
• Maintain clear communication across technical and non-technical groups
• Promote an AI- and design-enabled engineering culture aligned with enterprise standards
• Define governance for AI usage and design-to-development workflows
