Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia seeks an Associate Vice President of Reimbursement to lead the organization’s government reimbursement strategy, regulatory reporting, and payment optimization initiatives across the enterprise.

The role oversees Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting, audits, and settlements, and directs responses to audits and regulatory inquiries while guiding senior leadership on reimbursement risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, health administration, or a related field.
• 10 years of progressively responsible hospital reimbursement experience, including Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting, audits, settlements, and payment analysis.
• Experience directing complex financial close, audit, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory reporting, and cross-functional decision-support processes.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations, cost-reporting requirements, and hospital payment methodologies.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise government reimbursement strategy and payment optimization initiatives.
• Oversee preparation, review, certification, and filing of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
• Direct cost-report audits, reopenings, appeals, and settlement activities.
• Establish policies, governance standards, and internal controls for consistent reporting.
• Monitor regulations and advise senior leadership on risks and opportunities.
• Provide subject-matter leadership for various government payment methodologies.
• Develop reimbursement assumptions for budgets, forecasts, and period-end close.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, compliance, and operations to resolve complex matters.
