Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Hartford, CT is seeking an AVP, Data Engineering to lead data teams in building scalable data solutions that support AI, ML and BI initiatives.

You will mentor and guide senior engineers, drive data strategy across cloud platforms, manage cross-functional programs and ensure production-grade data pipelines from concept to operations. Hybrid work up to 2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related STEM field and 8+ years of progressive data engineering experience.
• 5+ years in enterprise BI/analytics platforms (Power BI, MicroStrategy, or Qlik Sense).
• 3+ years in distributed data systems, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and large-scale data processing.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead teams designing and building data solutions for AI, ML and BI.
• Develop analytic data products, data movement and persistence from pilot to production.
• Advise on data strategies to support enterprise architectures and platforms.
• Oversee automation of capabilities to ensure secure, scalable data solutions.
• Present recommendations to senior management and influence executive decisions.
• Guide senior engineers and managers to accelerate career development.
• Establish budgets, policies and strategic objectives for the function.
