We provide resources and guidance that makes it easier to live and thrive with T1D. This is more than a moment -- we're empowering a movement for the T1D community. Share your support and help educate and empower individuals facing type 1 diabetes. Our mission is to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life changing breakthroughs to treat, prevent and ultimately, cure T1D and its complications.

Always, we are guided by a single purpose: As we drive towards curing type 1 diabetes, we help make everyday life better for the people who face it.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Team Leadership: Leads and manages a team responsible for corporate partnerships (non-industry), diabetes industry partnerships, and the Ford Global Action Team, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development to achieve individual and team revenue goals.
  • Oversees a combined partnership portfolio generating $15-20 million or more annually, establishing clear accountability standards, account management best practices, and revenue growth strategies across all three teams.
  • Serves on the Corporate Development leadership team and contributes to department-wide strategy, planning, and culture in partnership with the VP, Corporate Engagement and AVP, Corporate Development.
  • Account Management and Portfolio Growth: Develops and implements an enterprise-wide account management framework that drives consistent partner experiences, maximizes renewal rates, and creates structured pathways for partnership upgrades across the corporate, industry, and FGAT portfolios.
  • Holds a personal portfolio of strategic accounts, directly managing relationships with senior corporate executives and serving as an escalation point for high-value or complex partnership negotiations.
  • Oversees the development and execution of strategic account plans for all national corporate partnerships, including executive relationship mapping, cross-sell and upsell strategies, multi-year agreement negotiation, and mission alignment positioning.
  • Guides and supports the Ford Global Action Team in managing Breakthrough T1D's most significant single-company partnership, ensuring the Ford relationship receives appropriate strategic investment, executive engagement, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Ensures all partnership contracts and letters of agreement are negotiated and executed in alignment with organizational priorities, working with legal and internal stakeholders to protect Breakthrough T1D's interests while maintaining strong partner relationships.
  • Pipeline and New Partner Integration: Collaborates with the AVP, Corporate Development to define pipeline transition criteria, ensuring new partners are onboarded into the account management structure with clear goals, account plans, and relationship continuity.
  • Partners with internal teams including research, advocacy, marketing and communications, and legal to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of all partnership assets and benefits, maintaining accountability through the Director, Corporate Operations.
  • Works collaboratively with field teams, chapter staff, and volunteers to deepen corporate partner engagement at local and regional levels, leveraging Breakthrough T1D events and initiatives to strengthen relationships and expand engagement across partner organizations.
  • Financial Oversight and Reporting: Monitors and evaluates portfolio health metrics including renewal rates, upgrade rates, revenue per partner, and pipeline coverage; develops dashboards and reporting in partnership with analytics to support data-driven decision making and executive reporting.
  • Provides oversight on department budgeting and forecasting for the corporate partnerships portfolio in partnership with the VP, Corporate Engagement and finance, monitoring program revenue and controlling expenses.
  • Maintains current knowledge of corporate social responsibility, environmental, social, and governance trends, cause marketing best practices, and the evolving corporate philanthropic landscape to inform partnership strategies and identify growth opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10 or more years of experience in corporate partnership management, nonprofit sales, or account management in a matrixed organization, with demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar portfolios.
  • 5 or more years in a leadership or management capacity, with a proven track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams to achieve revenue goals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in consultative account management, contract negotiation, and driving revenue growth through renewals and upgrades of existing partnerships.
