Job summary

Western Alliance Bank in Phoenix seeks an Assistant Vice President, Commercial Underwriter to underwrite routine loan requests and renewals for working capital lines, CREF, term loans and other lending products. You will review structures, collaterals and market data, and prepare internal memos and presentations for Credit Administration.

You may mentor junior analysts, conduct financial analyses, and engage with customers or sites as needed to assess risk and terms.

Qualifications

2+ years of related experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposits, loan administration, treasury management and related services.
Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

Underwrite routine loan requests and renewals for working capital lines of credit, commercial real estate loans, term loans, and other lending products.
Review loan structure, financial spreads, entity structures, collateral, market data and reports to assess risks; prepare memos and presentations for Credit Administration.
Mentor junior analysts in financial analysis, loan structure, covenants and mitigating factors.
May meet with existing or potential customers; visit loan sites; negotiate terms and present financing requests to senior management or Loan Committee.
