Job summary

Claremont McKenna College seeks an Associate Vice President for Construction Management and Capital Projects to lead the campus master plan implementation and oversee major construction programs. You will coordinate with trustees, staff, and external partners to ensure timely delivery of facilities projects.

The AVP will manage budgets, schedules, bid processes, and vendor relations, focusing on healthcare, research, and higher education facilities.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in construction management, project management, and coordination with engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Experience in an academic or non-profit setting is strongly desired.
• Ability to manage budgets, bid processes, and master plan coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for a small Construction Management and Capital Projects team.
• Manage capital projects from planning through occupancy, including budgeting and contract documents.
• Coordinate with EVP/COO on Master Plan processes and with city/county officials on active/planned projects.
• Develop project scopes/schedules and prepare materials for Board of Trustee meetings.
• Serve as liaison with general contractors, project managers, engineers, vendors, and campus partners.

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or related field
