Job summary

Fortitude Re is seeking an AVP of Automated Controls to drive design and delivery of automated controls embedded in investment, underwriting, settlements, finance and data workflows. You will partner with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Information Security and Technology to translate risk requirements into robust, auditable controls across platforms.

Lead control execution through the lifecycle, ensure built-in controls, and establish continuous monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in risk, controls, internal audit, technology risk, or related functions.
• Experience designing and implementing automated controls integrated into business processes and technology platforms.
• Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end, influencing senior stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of internal financial controls and ICFR concepts, ITGCs, operational risk frameworks, cybersecurity principles.
• Familiarity with data platforms, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics/BI tools.
• Experience with automated controls within Palantir Foundry or comparable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead automated controls, design and delivery embedded into investment, underwriting, settlements, finance and data workflows.
• Own control execution and operation through the development life cycle with clear ownership in production.
• Translate risk requirements into automated controls embedded in business workflows.
• Identify risks and document controls to address them.
• Build and standardize control processes to be built-in rather than added on.
• Embed controls into data pipelines with quality checks, lineage, and access control.
• Establish continuous monitoring, dashboards, and alerts for key controls and risk indicators.
• Design, build and maintain automated internal financial controls over settlements, reserving, and reporting.
• Enhance operational risk and cybersecurity controls in collaboration with IT and Security.
• Support AI/model governance controls and integrate into governance framework.
• Drive transformation initiatives with an automation-first, controls-by-design approach.
• Monitor, remediate and improve control operations with metrics and transparent evidence.
