Job summary

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Fortitude Re) seeks an AVP of Automated Controls to lead the design and delivery of automated controls embedded in investment, underwriting, settlements, and financial data workflows.

You will own control execution through the development life cycle and ensure production readiness with clear accountability. The role requires 7+ years in risk/controls within financial services or insurance, strong ICFR/ITGC knowledge, and collaboration with Finance, Risk,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in finance, accounting, information systems, computer science, risk management, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in risk, controls, internal audit, technology risk, or related functions in (re)insurance or financial services.
• Experience designing and implementing automated controls integrated into business processes and technology platforms (ERPs, policy/claims systems, data platforms).
• Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end and influence senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Technology.
• Strong knowledge of internal financial controls and ICFR concepts, IT general controls, operational risk frameworks, cybersecurity knowledge, and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of automated controls embedded in investment, underwriting, settlements, finance, and data workflows.
• Own control execution and transition to accountable teams in production.
• Translate risk requirements into automated controls across processes and data pipelines.
• Establish continuous monitoring, dashboards, and alerts for controls and risk indicators.
• Design, build, and maintain automated internal financial controls over settlements, reserving, and financial reporting.
• Partner with IT to ensure appropriate ITGCs for key applications and the new platform.
