Job summary

Strativ Group in Long Beach is seeking an Avionics Test Systems Engineer to build and validate test infrastructure for next-generation flight hardware. You will collaborate across electrical, software, and mission assurance to ensure avionics are proven before flight.

You will implement custom test rigs, translate requirements into test plans, and drive automated testing while mentoring teammates and supporting handoffs to operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS, computer/electrical engineering, or similar).
• 2+ years working with hardware test equipment post-degree.
• 1+ years in C++ or Python.
• Comfortable administering Linux systems from the command line.
• Experience with a modular DAQ platform (NI, Weidmüller, Beckhoff, etc.).
• Basic electrical wiring safety knowledge, including grounding.

Responsibilities

• Build and commission custom test rigs for avionics and related electronics.
• Turn hardware requirements from engineering leads into concrete test plans.
• Write, run, and validate test cases at the component and system level.
• Troubleshoot and debug test equipment and benches.
• Lead design reviews for new or updated test setups.
• Mentor engineers on debugging and troubleshooting.
• Document test rigs for smooth handoff to operations.
• Help build and roll out a company-wide automated testing framework.
• Build simulation interfaces for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing with technical specialists.
