Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an avionics test engineer to develop and maintain test plans and automated test equipment in alignment with company standards. You will validate test systems, conduct performance and environmental testing, and support root-cause analysis during development cycles.

You will collaborate with subsystem stakeholders, assist in capital equipment procurement, and contribute to continuous improvement through metrics and traceability for quality audits.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in electrical, computer engineering or related field.
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining test chambers and automated test and measurement equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of electronics and circuit fundamentals.
  • Familiar with EMI/EMC standards, IEC & automotive standards or equivalent.
  • Familiar with hardware development life cycle.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Passion for hands-on problem solving and avionics integration and test.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain avionics test plans and automated test equipment in compliance with company standards.
  • Develop and maintain test standards, interface with subsystem stakeholders, and support procurement of capital equipment to maintain test readiness.
  • Validate automated test equipment and systems.
  • Facilitate performance testing, calibration, and environmental testing of avionics development hardware per test plans.
  • Provide support to identify root cause for failures and manage rework of prototype hardware during development test and debug cycles.
  • Establish and maintain test result metrics to support data reduction, retention, and reporting standards.
  • Maintain automated test equipment configuration control and traceability for quality audits.
  • Facilitate transition of development avionics hardware into production.
