Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking an avionics test engineer to develop and execute environmental and EMI/EMC test campaigns for flight avionics hardware. You will coordinate test requirements with subsystem owners, integration and test engineers, and operations staff to ensure reliable hardware for reusable launch vehicles.

This hands‑on role demands experience with test plans, automated equipment, and strong problem solving, with travel to remote sites for testing and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer engineering or related field.
• 3+ years operating and maintaining test chambers and automated test equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electronics and EMI/EMC standards.
• Familiar with hardware development life cycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain avionics test plans and automated test equipment per standards.
• Validate test equipment and systems; support procurement to maintain readiness.
• Coordinate test requirements with subsystem owners and test/ops teams.
• Support root‑cause analysis and rework of prototype hardware.
• Maintain test result metrics and configuration control for audits.
• Facilitate transition of development hardware into production.
