About SkyWest

Looking for the next step in your Aircraft Maintenance career? As a SkyWest A&P Mechanic, you will be part of a fast-paced environment full of variety that puts your talent to work on our growing fleet of aircraft. Those with military A&P experience are eligible for a $7,500 bonus with a commitment to work at SkyWest for at least three years. This opportunity allows you to gain new skills working nose-to-tail on aircraft, join a community of skilled mechanics, and have a significant impact on SkyWest operations.

Primary Job Duties
  1. Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems.
  2. Make critical decisions regarding aircraft safety promptly.
  3. Maintain proficiency in all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork.
  4. Perform avionics inspections, routine maintenance (e.g., FOQA downloads), and troubleshooting systems in a hangar environment.
  5. Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on components, and work on aircraft systems in a shop environment.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Interested A&P Mechanics in this Avionics Tech position, aiming to acquire time for FCC Radio License testing, may also apply.

Minimum Requirements
  • Valid Airframe & Powerplant certificate.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license.
  • Ability to read and understand company, manufacturer, and wire diagram manuals, including schematics.
  • Basic avionics skills.
  • Experience working independently and in team environments, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft avionics and electrical systems using manuals.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license and insurability.
  • Minimum toolbox.
  • Problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work nights and holidays.
  • Good judgment in team and safety-sensitive aircraft maintenance work.
Physical and Other Requirements
  • Ability to routinely lift 60 lbs. with or without accommodations.
Experience/Training
  • Graduation from an accredited avionics school.
  • Military training in avionics or electronics.
  • Associate degree or higher in electronics.
  • At least 18 months of experience in the avionics industry.
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position.
Licensing
  • Must hold an FCC GROL license. If not held at employment, it must be obtained within six months of hire.
