Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Petaluma, CA seeks an Avionics Technician II to perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on aircraft navigation, comms, and flight control systems. The role requires reading schematics, using diagnostic equipment, and delivering high-quality wire harness assemblies.

You will work with engineering and production to develop new assemblies, document tests, and plan repair tasks while maintaining strict safety and ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of working experience.
• Excellent wire soldering, stripping, crimping, and heat shrink skills.
• Capable of reading assembly drawings and instructions.
• Adept at wire harness assembly using schematics.
• Experience with circular connectors.
• IPC 610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications.
• Previous UAV wire harness manufacturing experience.
• Strong work ethic and flexibility.
• Experience collaborating with management and engineering on new assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and service avionics systems.
• Diagnose problems and troubleshoot equipment.
• Run tests and complete reports.
• Update and improve existing systems.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment.
• Inspect and maintain systems and assemblies.
• Plan and schedule repairs and work with stock room.
• Manufacture wire harnesses per drawings and instructions.
• Assemble UAV subassemblies and connectors.
• Collaborate with engineering for new designs.
