Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Piney Flats, TN seeks an Avionics Tech to join the Aircraft Services Team. You will build cables and wiring harnesses, modify components to meet blueprints, perform soldering and connector pinouts, and assemble circuit breaker panels.

Candidates should have about 2 years avionics/electrical experience, a high school diploma or GED, and ideally an FAA A&P certificate or related training. Teamwork, attention to detail, and willingness to work overtime are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of avionics/electrical experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• FAA Airframe or A&P certificate preferred.
• Soldering or electrostatic discharge training preferred.
• Sheetmetal knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with wiring schematics, blueprints, and electrical principles.
• Ability to purchase own tools for assigned jobs and work overtime as required.
• Ability to work as a team member with strong attention to detail.

Aircraft Services Team – Bell Piney Flats

Come join the Bell Piney Flats Aircraft Services team and help ensure best in class service to our customers. In this position, you’ll be an integral part of the Aircraft Customization team, performing a variety of avionics tasks and gaining valuable hands-on aviation experience.

What you’ll be doing as an Avionics Tech

• Build cables and wiring harnesses to print.
• Modify items to meet Bell blueprint specifications.
• Perform soldering and connector pinouts.
• Build circuit breaker panel assemblies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You Bring To this Role

• 2 years of experience in avionics and/or electrical/electronic work related to job duties.
• Additional experience may be a plus.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• FAA Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate is preferred.
• Professional training or certificate in areas such as soldering or electrostatic discharge training is preferred.
• Sheetmetal knowledge is preferred.
• Familiarity with wiring schematics, blueprints, and electrical principles.
• Ability to purchase own tools required for the jobs assigned, and to work overtime as required.
• Ability to work as a team member to ensure quality and timely completion of aircraft to meet schedule with strong attention to detail, and ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and progressively grow your expertise by learning and retaining new skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
• Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.
• Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues.
• Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
