Job summary

Textron Aviation is hiring an Avionics Technician B for our Service Center in Wichita, Kansas. This full-time, second-shift role includes a shift differential and opportunities to work on aviation systems across wiring, testing, and alignment tasks.

You will test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair avionics equipment, collaborate with pilots during flight tests, and ensure compliance with FAA procedures while growing your technical skills and earning a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further technical schooling preferred.
  • 3+ years in avionics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronics; able to use avionics test equipment.
  • Familiarity with avionics: comms, nav, autopilot, flight director, DME, transponder, weather radar.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and orders and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Test and diagnose systems; conduct functional tests, analyze data, determine corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair wiring; replace defective units, modify per diagrams and service instructions.
  • Install and align equipment; wiring repairs and system adjustments to meet standards.
  • Collaborate during flight tests with pilots to validate repairs.
  • Follow documentation; use orders and diagrams to complete tasks.
  • Maintain FAA compliance and safety standards.

We are hiring immediately for full-time Avionics Technician B in our Service Center. Join us for 6thshift, this position comes with an added benefit of a shift differential.

What You’ll Do
  • Test & Diagnose Systems: Conduct functional tests to isolate issues, analyze in-flight data, and determine corrective actions
  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Identify wiring discrepancies, replace defective units, and perform necessary modifications using diagrams and service instructions
  • Install & Align Equipment: Execute wiring repairs and system adjustments to meet operational and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate During Flight Tests: Accompany pilots to validate repaired or aligned systems for optimal performance
  • Follow Technical Documentation: Work from aircraft orders, wiring diagrams, and written instructions to complete tasks accurately
  • Maintain Compliance: Ensure all work meets FAA procedures and safety standards
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college or technical school preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft avionics systems troubleshooting and repair
  • Knowledge of electronics and ability to use test equipment related to avionics systems
