Job summary

Blue Origin in Florida is seeking an experienced avionics lead to drive integration of customer payloads with the New Glenn launch vehicle. You will define configuration, lead verification, and coordinate with cross-functional teams across engineering disciplines.

The role requires a strong systems engineering background, excellent communication, and a commitment to safety and quality in spaceflight operations.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace engineering (or related technical field).
  • 3+ years of hands-on electrical systems integration experience, preferably on launch vehicles or spacecraft.
  • Experience with system engineering practices (formal or informal).
  • Experience with multi-discipline, cross-functional groups to test and deploy integrated electrical systems.
  • Unmatched communication skills — ability to present, write, and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single threaded avionics leader responsible for avionics configuration definition and integration of multiple customer payloads with the New Glenn launch vehicle
  • Develop avionics systems engineering requirements for customer payload integration and streamline processes for quick-turn integration
  • Support customer design reviews and present technical information to internal and external customers
  • Represent avionics during mission proposal and scope estimation efforts
  • Integrate customer hardware into the New Glenn HIL test platform and serve as Test Lead for integrated testing
  • Own verification and validation of customer electrical interface requirements during IVT
