Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer II to oversee the design, integration, and testing of avionics for our Winnebago Spaceship. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging with Python.
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4-20mA devices, and general test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define project scopes from concept to prototype and production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, channel count, size and mass.
• Analyze architecture for faults, mitigate risks, and support FD/IR when hardware solutions are unfeasible.
• Conduct verification plans for avionics on flight and HITL hardware for launch readiness.
• Oversee integration of Winnebago avionics systems and act as primary contact for investigations.
• Design, build, and operate HITL testbeds to simulate spacecraft on the ground.
• Develop avionics ground infrastructure and test racks for flight vehicles.
• Mentor and train new engineers to foster learning and continuous improvement.
