Job summary

Varda Space Industries seeks an Avionics Systems Engineer II to oversee the design, integration, and testing of avionics for the Winnebago Spaceship. You will ensure readiness for launch and reentry, collaborating with multiple engineering teams to meet mission objectives.

The role requires a strong background in electrical systems, HITL testing, and experience taking vehicle electricals from concept to production. On-site in El Segundo, CA with equity incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
• Proficiency in Python for programming and debugging.
• Experience with power supplies, DAQ systems, RTD/4-20mA devices, and general test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define project scopes from concept to production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, channel count, size, and mass.
• Analyze architecture for faults, develop mitigation plans, and support FDIR when needed.
• Create verification plans for avionics systems on flight and HITL hardware.
• Participate in mission operations as an Avionics specialist or system operator.
