Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer for the HITL & Systems team in El Segundo, CA. You will design, test, and integrate avionics for Winnebago spacecraft, focusing on HITL testbeds and mission readiness.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure reliable power, telemetry, and fault handling while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering best practices. This on-site role rewards performance with stock options and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging with Python.
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4-20mA devices, and general test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define project scopes from concept to prototype and production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, channel count, size and mass.
• Analyze architecture for faults, develop mitigation plans, and coordinate FDIR or workarounds.
• Conduct verification plans for avionics systems on flight and HITL hardware for readiness and compliance.
• Participate in mission operations as an Avionics specialist or system operator.
