Job summary

Avidyne is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and package electromechanical hardware for cockpit displays. You will take concepts from CAD through DO-160 qualification, ensuring safety, performance, and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with seasoned engineers, contribute to certification activities, and gain hands-on experience in aviation technology while delivering robust, high-quality avionics hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s with less experience).
  • Applied knowledge of mechanical design: stress, materials, thermal, structures.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and design documentation (SolidWorks/Creo or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes: sheet metal, CNC, casting, injection molding.
  • Awareness of DO-160 environmental testing and aviation certs (FAA/EASA).

Responsibilities

  • Design electromechanical devices and electronics packaging for cockpit displays using advanced 3D modeling.
  • Create and maintain drawings, BOMs, specs, and design records for certification and production.
  • Design sheet metal, machined, cast, and injection-molded parts with weight and manufacturability in mind.
  • Develop models and assemblies integrating subsystems (electrical/thermal/mechanical).
  • Plan and execute design verification including structural and thermal analysis and testing.
