Job summary

Avidyne is seeking a Senior Avionics Systems Integration Engineer to own the integration of our avionics into broader aircraft systems, including power, wiring, antennas, and airframe electrical architecture. You will develop manuals, ICDs, and installation drawings and ensure certification readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in avionics installation, systems integration, or related role (or MS + 3+ years).
• Ability to read, generate, and troubleshoot aircraft wiring diagrams and installation drawings.
• Hands-on experience around aircraft during installation, inspection, or testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Installation Manuals, wiring diagrams, ICDs, and installation drawings for Avidyne product lines.
• Define aircraft-level integration requirements: power budgets, wiring harness specs, antenna placement, and data bus interfaces (ARINC 429, RS-232, CAN, Ethernet).
• Generate substantiation data and wiring compliance docs for STC and field approvals; coordinate with DERs and ACOs.
• Work across avionics, airframe, and propulsion boundaries to ensure full integration, not just at the connector.
• Evaluate installation configurations for FAR Part 23/25 and AC 43.13; advise on power quality and bus architecture.
• Participate in flight test activities to validate integrated system performance; document data and corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Partner with hardware, firmware, and software teams to ensure installability and certifiability in the field.
