Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Huntsville seeks an Avionics System Design Engineer to join the TCP Avionics team. You will help develop avionics packages for target vehicles and electrical support equipment, working with a cross-functional team to deliver advanced technologies.

Requirements include a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and an active DoD Secret clearance. The role entails design, analysis, testing support, and product certifications across the program.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in electronics/avionics system design for tactical or flight applications.
• Experience with selection of electronics/avionics components (trade studies).
• Significant hardware troubleshooting experience focusing on root cause and corrective action.
• Experience working with electronics/avionics suppliers on design and troubleshooting.
• Ability to prepare and present technical review and troubleshooting data to program leadership and customer.

Responsibilities

• Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems.
• Develop and support electrical system designs for flight vehicles.
• Provide technical oversight of system electrical/electronics products and subsystems.
• Perform avionics component selection and support trade studies for avionics selection.
• Perform electrical reviews and analyses for existing and new designs.
• Provide support to system level testing, troubleshooting and resolution of test anomalies.
• Generate, review and present Avionics Product Certifications.
