Job summary

CMC Electronics is seeking a Software Engineer for our Reston, VA site to develop avionics software for flight management systems, applying rigorous standards in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. You will help design scalable architectures and contribute across design, coding and documentation.

In this onsite role, you’ll travel up to 15% and collaborate with teams across commercial and military aviation while upholding high reliability and performance expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Develop avionics software solutions in line with company and industry standards.
• Design scalable software architectures that evolve with product needs.
• Contribute to all phases of development: design, coding, and documentation.
• Solve complex technical challenges across new and existing systems.
• Participate in code reviews and peer evaluations to ensure quality.
