The DC Army National Guard seeks an Avionics Mechanic to ensure communications, navigation, and flight control systems on aircraft operate reliably. You will learn to maintain and repair avionics hardware through hands-on training in a disciplined environment.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 25 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid instruction. Benefits cover tuition assistance, retirement benefits for part-time service, and a regular paycheck during drill weekends.

Formación

• Must be a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED
• Interest in aviation maintenance and ability to follow technical manuals
• Willingness to undergo military enlistment and physical examination

Responsabilidades

• Perform operational and preventive checks and alignments on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and cryptographic equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment using technical manuals and schematic drawings
• Inspect and maintain electrical systems including wiring and connections, and replace instruments as needed
• Maintain tools, shop stock, and equipment used for avionics maintenance
