Job summary

Castelion is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Specialist, Harnessing to develop, improve, and scale manufacturing processes for flight-critical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies in Torrance, CA. You will work hands-on with engineering and production teams to turn complex electrical designs into repeatable, high-quality manufacturing steps.

The role requires knowledge of wiring harness manufacturing, including crimping, soldering, shielding and inspection, with a focus on manufacturability,

Qualifications

• Experience manufacturing aerospace high-reliability wiring harnesses.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Hands-on with troubleshooting manufacturing issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability and reliability.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and standard processes.
• Support harness build, inspection, testing, and dielectric withstand testing.
• Troubleshoot defects and lead root-cause and corrective actions.
• Train technicians on workmanship standards and processes.
• Support new product introduction and scale from development to production.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, cycle time, and throughput.
• Support supplier development and qualification for harness fabrication.

Avionics Manufacturing Specialist, Harnessing

Castelion is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Specialist, Harnessing to develop, improve, and scale the manufacturing processes used to build flight-critical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.

You will work hands-on with engineering and production teams to turn complex electrical designs into repeatable, high-quality manufacturing processes. This role will help define how harnesses are fabricated, inspected, tested, and scaled as Castelion moves from development builds into higher-rate production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical interconnects
• Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and reliability
• Develop tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and standardized manufacturing processes
• Support harness build, inspection, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and dielectric withstand testing
• Troubleshoot manufacturing defects and lead root-cause and corrective-action efforts
• Train and mentor technicians on workmanship standards and manufacturing processes
• Support new product introduction and transition new harness designs into production
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, cycle time, and production throughput
• Support supplier development and qualification for harness fabrication

Basic Qualifications

• Experience manufacturing aerospace, automotive, defense, or other high-reliability wiring harnesses
• Strong understanding of crimping, soldering, shielding, splicing, routing, and connector assembly
• Experience developing or improving manufacturing processes
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 or NASA workmanship standards
• Experience with automated harness test equipment
• Experience developing tooling, fixtures, and production processes
• Experience supporting aerospace or flight hardware
• Experience training or mentoring manufacturing technicians
