Job summary

JAG Aviation in Waco, TX is seeking a seasoned Avionics Install and Repair Lead who reports to the Director of Avionics. You will supervise floor technicians, provide technical assistance and training, and ensure that avionics installations and repairs meet flight safety standards.

Responsibilities include customer consultations to determine needs, preparing quotes, coordinating schedules, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of General Aviation avionics install experience.
• Airframe and Power Plant certification or equivalent repair experience.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Must pass background and drug test.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations.

• Prepare Quote/Bid packages for customers and Director of Avionics.
• Coordinate and schedule work with the Director of Avionics.

Job description

This position reports directly to the Director of Avionics and is responsible for performing various avionics repairs and installs. Provides direction to floor technicians, technical assistance and training on various avionics equipment.

Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Speak with customers to ascertain their needs
• Be knowledgeable of various avionics equipment that can be installed in each aircraft.
• Give customers advice on Avionics equipment
• Assign and direct technicians on assigned work
• Prepare Quote/Bid packages for customers in a timely manner and give them to the customer as well as the Director of Avionics.
• Add Quote/Bid requests to the Avionics non-billable bid shop order with a target date to finalize the quote/bid.
• Assist Director of Avionics with coordinating and scheduling of work
• Returns customer telephone calls in a timely manner.
• Orders all install equipment (i.e.-Garmin, etc.)
• Daily floor shop work required.
• Maintain your work area in a clean and safe manner
• Other duties as assigned

Years of Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of General Aviation Avionics Install experience

Qualifications:

• Airframe and power plant mechanic's certification and/or previous experience as a repairman in an avionics shop.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, understand and speak English
• Must have knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver around aircraft
• Must be able to pass a company background and drug test

Work environment:

• Flight-line and hangar at time in inclement weather
• Work around chemicals, solvents and paints.
