Job summary

Fargo Jet Center is seeking an Avionics Technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems on GA and corporate aircraft in a FAA-compliant environment. Tasks follow manufacturer specifications and FAA guidelines, with coordination across the maintenance team.

Qualifications include a two-year degree or equivalent experience, GA/corporate aircraft familiarity, and knowledge of avionics test equipment.

Qualifications

  • Degree or certificate in avionics maintenance or electronics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with GA/corporate aircraft; supervisory experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of aircraft component repair.
  • Knowledge of avionics, electronic and electrical test equipment.
  • Knowledge of U.S. government regulations for federal contractors and FAA programs.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems per manufacturer specs and FAA guidelines.
  • Support WAAS GPS/FMS, Weather Radar/XM Weather, Autopilots & Compass, Inflight Connectivity.
  • Work with OEMs Garmin, Collins Aerospace, Honeywell, Starlink, Gogo.
  • Work in FAA Part 145 CRS environment supporting Textron, Pilatus, Gulfstream aircraft.
  • Coordinate with team leads to ensure workflow; resolve issues during tasks.
  • Complete checklists and reports per regulations; follow Inspection Procedures Manual.
  • Maintain safety rules and build good relationships with staff, vendors, customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Position Reports to

Maintenance Manager & Avionics Supervisor

Primary Operational Objectives

The Avionics Technician will be responsible for performing the installation & maintenance of Avionics/Electronics systems on general aviation/corporate aircraft.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshoot malfunctions of aircraft avionics and electrical systems components in accordance with MFG specifications and FAA guidelines.
  • This job function includes support of the following avionics systems: WAAS GPS/FMS; Weather Radar/XM Weather; Autopilots & Compass systems; Inflight Connectivity.
  • This position involves working with avionics equipment from the following OEMs: Garmin; Collins Aerospace; Honeywell; Starlink; Gogo.
  • The FAA Part 145 CRS environment will involve supporting the following aircraft types: Textron (Cessna, Hawker, Beechcraft); Pilatus; Gulfstream.
  • Communicate with team leads & other team members to ensure effective workflow and coordination between related departments.
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner as they arise during scheduled tasks.
  • Complete all checklists, forms and reports as required in accordance with the company, government, and FAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge to understand and follow the repair facility's Inspection Procedures Manual.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company team members, vendors, and customers.
  • Responsible to follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to work hours as directed by your supervisor.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Degree or certificate from an accredited two (2) year college, university or technical school in avionics maintenance or electronics required or equivalent experience
  • Experience with GA/Corporate aircraft; supervisory experience a plus
  • Knowledge of aircraft component repair
  • Knowledge of avionics, electronic and electrical test equipment
  • Knowledge of U.S. government regulations for federal contractors and FAA maintenance programs
Physical Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling required.
  • Frequent work in small spaces, extreme temperatures, and heights above six feet, noisy environments and flying.
  • Frequent work with products, material and chemicals associated with aircraft maintenance.
