Job summary

Astranis is seeking an Avionics-Focused Electrical Integration Engineer to develop, design, and implement tests and test systems for the electronics on our spacecraft. You will verify avionics, power, propulsion, and thermal designs work across environments to ensure on-orbit success.

You will design automated hardware/software tests, debug complex systems, design PCBA interfaces, and write Python to control test equipment and satellites.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience or equivalent internship or project experience.
• Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
• Experience using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
• Experience with debugging systems and circuits with multiple layers of hardware and software integration.
• Exposure to wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, block diagrams, etc.
• Turning high-level requirements into clear design/test objectives.
• Passion for hardware development in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design automated hardware and software solutions to test+validate flight-worthy hardware.
• Firefight complex vehicle electrical systems issues.
• Design PCBA's to interface with flight hardware.
• Write software in object-oriented Python to control test equipment, hardware, and satellites.
• Ensure high-caliber products by implementing new integration and test processes.
• Lead large, high-visibility test campaigns with multiple stakeholders.
• Work with design team to provide feedback through qualification and acceptance.
• Contribute to inter-org mitigation of system-level and unit-level issues.
• Assist in recruiting and hiring additional teammates.
