Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking an Avionics Install Technician at Cahokia Heights, IL to install, repair and troubleshoot avionics on civilian aircraft. You will remove/install panels, wire connectors, and wire bundles, and perform system tests in a hangar environment with a collaborative team.

The role supports a full-time, on-site position with growth opportunities and benefits starting on day one. Compensation ranges from $22–$35 per hour plus discretionary bonuses and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; electronics/avionics training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license for airline travel and/or passport ideal but not mandatory.
• That the role ranges from Tech I to Master Technician with varying supervision.

Responsibilities

• Removal and installation of panels, components and interiors, and repair work on avionics installations.
• Stamp, bundle and install connectors on wiring.
• Removal of old wiring and installation of new wire bundles in aircraft.
• Troubleshooting and evaluation of avionics systems on the aircraft when designated.
• Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
• Aircraft movement and hangar stack assistance as required.
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment and tooling.
• Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases using basic computer skills.
• Work within a team process and also independently on projects when required.
• Communicate effectively in English (spoken, written, reading).
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
