Job summary

Blue Origin in Kent, WA is seeking an Avionics Hardware Technician on the A&C shift to assemble, test, and repair avionics hardware for spaceflight programs. You will work from schematics and plans, perform wiring, soldering, and fault isolation in both lab and production environments.

Requirements include 3+ years in aerospace avionics, familiarity with ESD, basic test equipment, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Relocation is available and shifts run Mon-Thu or Fri-Sun.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ESD EPA and tool control processes.
  • Experience with standard electronics assembly tools, hand soldering, and basic electronic test equipment (multimeters and power supplies).
  • Experience with applying torque to fasteners/components.
  • Fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
  • 3+ years of experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.
  • Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and passion for space.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week (4x10's) with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.
  • Experience with polymerics (staking, potting, encapsulation and conformal coating).

Responsibilities

  • Building different components and assemblies for all groups across Blue Origin in all different environments (development, test and flight).
  • Assisting with assembly of new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to determine best practices for assembly.
  • Giving regular input on manufacturing improvement opportunities or build changes leading to more efficient assembly.
  • Serve both internal and external customers across multiple systems and multiple platforms; each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight.
  • A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork, and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind.
