Job summary

Billings Flying Service in Billings, MT, seeks an Avionics Specialty Mechanic to support avionics repairs and maintenance on multiple helicopter platforms during field operations under a Part 145 repair station.

This is a field position reporting to the Helicopter Program Manager; travel will be required based on company needs. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to FAA regulations.

Qualifications

• Highly skilled avionics technician with a mechanical skill set or a mechanic with a high skill set in avionics.
• Ability to work independently and make economic decisions based on overall company vision and direction
• Driver's License
• High level of both verbal and written communication
• A&P License (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Operate within a team environment with the highest level of ethics, integrity, safety and honesty
• Effectively communicate with team members in areas of technical data, quality conformity, and time management
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, aircraft blueprints, and schematics
• Wire, install, test, and verify operation of avionics equipment and accessories; identify and correct electronics failures using hand tools, test equipment, technical documents, and technical reference materials
• Modify existing wire harnesses and new wire harness fabrication
• Assure that installations are done in accordance with procedures described in FAA Regulations and manufacturer instructions
• Use sound judgment and technical aptitude to make good decisions regarding job sequence and techniques, troubleshooting and discrepancy resolution
• Be able to climb ladders, apply finger and hand dexterity in using hand tools, be able to move around the shop/hangar area and within aircraft continuously throughout the workday

About The Role
