Job summary

Gables Engineering Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to design and develop embedded avionics software powering cockpit systems. You will work on real-world, safety-critical code from concept to cockpit, collaborating across hardware and software domains.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 5+ years in assembly, and 3+ years in C/C++, with strong debugging and optimization skills. DSP/audio experience is a plus, and mentorship is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years developing and maintaining high-level and structured assembly language software.
• 3+ years professional experience with C/C++ languages.
• Ability to understand schematics and troubleshoot hardware.
• Experience with DSP and audio systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software for avionic equipment, including assembly and high-level languages.
• Determine optimal software/hardware partitioning across projects.
• Participate in validation and verification per standards.
• Specify requirements and implement software solutions for Gables Engineering products.
