Job summary

RTX Avionics division is seeking an Avionics Electronics Technician for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 4:00 PM-12:30 AM) in College Park, MD. You will perform testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of electronic avionics equipment following Collins Aerospace and RTX standards, with close supervision based on labor grade.

Candidates must have 6+ years of relevant electronics experience or an equivalent AA/AS degree, and must meet FAA safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or 8 years without a HS diploma.
• Electronics maintenance industry experience or education required.
• Must have prior experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment and systems.
• Has a basic understanding of advanced test equipment functions and reprogramming of equipment.
• Aligns and adjusts advanced electrical components on units under test to ensure proper functioning.
• Conducts functional tests to check operation and calibration of test stations and systems.
• Analyzes circuitry and wiring to locate malfunction sources during testing.
• Performs electrical/mechanical repair operations including disassembly/assembly and applying modifications per service bulletins.
