Job summary

RTX is seeking an Avionics Electronics Technician to perform testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of electronic avionics in an FAA-regulated environment. This 1st shift role runs Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, onsite at the Federal Way, WA facility.

You will work with precision test equipment, follow procedures, and support teams across engineering and leadership within the MRO. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or AA/AS degree with 4+ years of relevant electronics experience,

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or AA/AS degree (or 2-year post high school training) with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Electronics background or education with 2+ years complementary work history.
  • Electronics maintenance industry experience or education.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Follow written procedures and demonstrate proper use of hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met.
  • Troubleshooting and testing of repair units.
  • Align advanced electronic components on units being repaired to ensure proper functioning of circuits.
  • Utilize SAP and other MRO computer programs.
  • Participate on project teams.
  • Conduct written and verbal communication with technicians, engineering, and leadership within the MRO.

Job Summary

The Avionics Electronics Technician will participate in high-level technical work with little or no instruction. Responsible to perform testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of various moderate to complex electronic avionics equipment in an FAA regulated environment and in accordance with Collins Aerospace Workmanship and Quality Standards, including products returned from airlines, dealers, airframes and/or end users for service under close or general supervision.

This is a 1st Shift position with the following hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Possess a working knowledge of standard test equipment, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc., as well as a working knowledge of custom made test equipment, including automated test equipment.
  • Follow written procedures and demonstrate proper use of hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met.
  • Troubleshooting and testing of repair units.
  • Aligns and adjusts advanced electronic components on units being repaired to ensure proper functioning of electronic circuits, utilizing established calibration procedures.
  • Utilizes SAP and other MRO computer programs.
  • Participate on project teams.
  • Apply technical expertise in the evaluation, maintenance and use of complex products, devices, tests, or procedures under changing conditions where problem solving skills and judgments are required.
  • Must be highly-motivated and dedicated to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Utilize analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Successfully work as a team member supporting work completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct written and verbal communication with technicians, engineering, and leadership within the MRO.
  • Responsible for a moderate level of planning.
  • This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA guidelines.
  • Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a HS diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have an electronics background or education with 2+ years complimentary work history in a manufacturing or service environment.
  • Electronics maintenance industry experience or education required.
  • Must have prior experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • AAS degree in electronics and/or prior military experience strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years experience with aviation electronic equipment repair or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing CMM/SB documentation.
  • Electronic maintenance industry experience.
  • Testing/Troubleshooting experience.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this role is 47,700 USD - 90,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
