Job summary

Bombardier is hiring an Avionics/Electrical Engineer for Defense Systems Integration in Wichita. You will lead mission-systems integration, define deliverables, and coordinate with suppliers to meet program requirements.

Requirements include a BS in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, 5+ years in electrical design, knowledge of FAA/TCCA/EASA Part 25, DO-160/178/254, and strong communication skills. Local work authorization is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical system design or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of FAA, TCCA and EASA Part 25 certification requirements.
  • Working knowledge of system safety processes.
  • Familiar with RTCA DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254 standards.
  • Proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
  • Experience with AutoCAD is also preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, management, and suppliers.
  • Self-motivated and able to coordinate multiple activities and manage time effectively.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integration of mission systems on Bombardier aircraft with solutions that meet the unique requirements of Bombardier Defense customers.
  • Identify deliverables, risks, and challenges to these solutions in the bid and proposal phase.
  • Create deliverables to support these solutions in the active program phase: System schematics, Supplier requirement documents, System descriptions, Interface control documents, Wiring diagrams, Electrical load analyses, Functional test requirements or test plans, Qualification test plans, Test reports, Design compliance reports.
  • Review installation drawings, qualification test data and reports.
  • Decompose internal or external customer statements of work into detailed requirements.
  • Analyze ground and flight test data to verify system performance and functionality.
  • Research specifications for components selections.
  • Support change management through research, concepts, design reviews, trade studies, impact analysis, and implementation.
  • Work with suppliers and internal customers to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve aircraft build or test issues.
  • Support internal and external design reviews and program governance sessions.
  • Show compliance to 14 CFR Part 25 FAA, TCCA, and EASA certification requirements.
