Job summary

GMRE is seeking an Avionics Aircraft Technician to join our day shift team in New Mexico. The role involves performing maintenance on avionics systems with applications in radar, data processing, navigation and data display, and advising on procedures to repair aircraft and related equipment.

Candidates should have extensive wiring experience, including routing and terminating Ethernet wiring, and a proven ability to improve equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six years total experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft.
• Two years recent experience within four years of PoP start, with wiring and avionics installation tasks.

Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles for maintenance directives.

• The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, navigation and data display.
• Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
• Must have the ability to recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.

Education And Experience

• Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft as an avionics technician in order to accomplish required follow-on operations.
• Must have experience working with aircraft wiring, technicians will be installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires , shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
• Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.

Physical Requirements

• Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Travel Required

• Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
