Starting Date: Aug 18, 2026

Position: AVID Tutor/ Substitute

Reports to: Campus Administrator

Salary Range: $16.50 (first time tutor) / $17.50 (returning tutor)

Work Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:00 AM – 1:45 PM (September – May)

Location: Gateway College Preparatory School, Georgetown, TX

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups of high school students under the supervision of an AVID teacher during the school day.
• Guide and facilitate students through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussion.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at a local college or university (preferred).
• No specific content knowledge required.
• Attend 16 hours of AVID tutor training held by the district in the fall and spring.
• Pass a fingerprinting and criminal history check.
• Provide own transportation to the tutoring site.

Experience

• Preferred: 1 year of tutoring experience.
• Preferred: At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: High school or trade school degree.
