Woodland Jr High is hiring college students who want to serve as paid tutors and role models for students in our AVID program. The AVID program supports students in grades 7th-12th that aspire to attend college and are currently taking advanced classes to become college ready.

AVID tutors should be excellent role models who are motivated, organized, and successful college students who believe that the AVID students will succeed, too. The tutors should represent balanced academic backgrounds.

Qualifications

• College student tutor for AVID program.
• Ability to serve as a positive role model for middle/high school students.
• Willingness to work part-time after school hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and academic support to AVID students.
• Assist in preparing study materials and activities.
• Collaborate with AVID staff to promote college readiness.
