Job summary

Bristol Central High School is seeking an AVID tutor to work with 9th–12th grade students in the AVID program. Tutors facilitate small groups to solve academic challenges, participate in training, and support students in rapid course work.

Tutors will be involved in tutorial sessions, binder checks, and assisting in the AVID elective class. This is a non-bargaining, part-time position with a morning schedule from 7:35 AM to 10:35 AM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• No prior teaching experience needed; tutors can come from area colleges and community.
• Tutors attend training sessions to facilitate tutorials.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate AVID tutorial sessions for 9th–12th grade students.
• Assist in the AVID elective class.
• Check AVID student binders and support academic work.
