Job summary

Columbia Public School District is seeking AVID Tutors for multiple locations in the district. Tutors will support students through AVID strategies, working in groups and one-on-one to foster college readiness and study skills.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a four-year college or university with strong math or English background, and willing to complete mandatory 16-hour paid training. This is a part-time hourly position located in Columbia, MO with opportunities to develop into

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year college or university.
• Two years of post-secondary education preferred; experience with AVID is a plus.
• Must have reliable internet access capable of supporting Zoom sessions.

Responsibilities

• Lead AVID tutorial sessions in small groups and individually.
• Assess concepts from worksheets and discussions to plan sessions.
• Help students with writing, study skills, and college preparation.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and professional conduct.
• Collaborate with teachers and AVID coordinator to support student progress.
