Job summary

Garmin Ltd. is seeking a Software Engineer 2 for Aviation Web Development. This full-time role is based in Chandler, AZ or Olathe, KS and focuses on extending Garmin's customer-facing aviation software.

You will design features using TypeScript, Angular/React, and MapLibre, participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and help solve complex problems with robust, maintainable solutions. A strong foundation in software engineering tools and a willingness to explore new technologies are

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1+ year of relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
Proficiency in developing moderately complex software in TypeScript, Angular/React, and MapLibre.
Proficient with software engineering tools (configuration management, builds, debuggers).

Responsibilities

Design and implement small sets of new features using TypeScript, Angular/React and MapLibre.
Utilize configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in development.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer code reviews.
Provide reliable solutions and perform root cause analysis for issues.
Research and evaluate new technologies to improve processes and products.
