Job summary

Garmin is hiring a Software Engineer 1 - Aviation Backend Web to join the U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will build on existing software to develop basic products and applications for Garmin.

You will design and develop software in C/C++, Linux, Python and other languages, troubleshoot issues, and maintain code with standard engineering tools. A rotating on-call schedule supports Garmin's 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience
• GPA 3.0 or higher
• Experience in basic software development using C++, Linux, Python

Responsibilities

• Design and develop basic software for Garmin products or applications
• Troubleshoot and reproduce issues, evaluate causes, and test solutions
• Identify and resolve defects of basic scope using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers
• Apply design standards and document designs using established tools
• Provide on-call support on a rotating schedule for Garmin’s 24/7 operations
