Job summary

StandardAero in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Thermal Spray Coating Technician to setup and operate spray systems, apply thermal spray coatings to parts, and support production with precision workmanship.

You will work with engineers to follow formulas, inspect surfaces with precision tools, maintain equipment, and participate in continuous improvement of coating cells. Training and safety are emphasized as essential parts of the role.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in machine operation and/or robotics.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for about a quarter of the workday.
• Regularly required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Selects, prepares solutions or coatings according to formulas and creates spray recipes.
• Plans and tests programs for robots applicable to production.
• Operates blasting equipment to clean surfaces prior to coating.
• Masks parts with fixtures and masks prior to coating.
• Sets up and operates spray systems to apply coatings to parts.
• Removes masking and cleans overspray after coating.
• Inspects surfaces with micrometers, calipers and profilometers for defects.
• Cleans and maintains spray/coating equipment and blast cabinets.
• Participates in continuous improvement and cross-trains in related skills.
• Observes all safety requirements and reports unsafe conditions.
