Job summary

Burns Engineering, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Project Manager to lead the Aviation Technology Team on a major airport security modernization program, replacing ACAMS and upgrading video management and storage systems while keeping operations and compliance intact.

The role requires 8–15+ years in large-scale infrastructure or security tech projects, strong stakeholder management, and hands-on governance, procurement, and vendor coordination within a 24/7 airport environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Systems or related field.
• 8–15+ years of project management experience on large-scale infrastructure or security projects.
• Experience delivering multi-stakeholder projects in highly regulated environments (aviation/public sector).
• Experience with access control, alarm monitoring, CCTV/video management or similar tech.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for replacement of ACAMS and video system upgrades.
• Establish project governance, reporting, and LAWA standards.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Airport Operations, IT, and regulatory agencies.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk within active airport operations.
• Oversee system architecture, integration, testing, and commissioning.
• Plan phased implementation and system cutovers to minimize disruption.
• Support procurement activities, including RFP development and bid evaluations.
• Manage vendors, consultants, and system integrators to meet goals.
• Collaborate with IMT and PMO to align with enterprise governance and cyber standards.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; ensure aviation and security compliance.
