Utah State University seeks a Lab Manager for the Aviation Technology Maintenance Management program to oversee daily operations of the aviation maintenance labs on the USU Logan Campus and at Logan Airport. Candidates should have professional aviation maintenance experience, FAA A&P licenses, and the ability to manage equipment, teach FAA Part 147 topics, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience is required.
• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to teach any of the required FAA Part 147-subjects
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with faculty and students with diverse backgrounds.

Responsabilités

• Oversees and manages day-to-day technical, educational, and research support activities in the laboratory.
• Researches and recommends purchases; locates parts and supplies for the facility.
• Develops and conducts orientations for students and faculty on equipment use.
• Train and enforce safety and security standards.
• Perform maintenance and repair on laboratory equipment; conduct safety checks.
• Investigate new technologies to support teaching and learning initiatives.
• Establish and enforce lab safety policies.
• Assist with outreach and aviation recruitment activities.
• Maintain accurate records and databases.
