Job summary

Billings Flying Service, Inc. seeks a capable engineer to join its BFS engineering team. The role focuses on developing repairs, alterations, and configurations across aircraft systems, with emphasis on problem solving and CAD proficiency.

You will manage small to mid-size projects, ensure compliance with repair criteria, and prepare documentation for certification efforts. The position offers hands-on aviation exposure and opportunities to contribute across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology is required.
• Hands-on aviation quality or supplier interface experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 21, 43, 29/27, 23/25 regulations is preferred.
• Experience with AS9100/ISO 9001 environments is preferred.
• A passion for aviation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing new repairs, alterations, or configuration changes across aircraft systems.
• Assume responsibility for small to medium projects from start to finish.
• Ensure compliance with repair criteria or other published limitations.
• Inspect, support and accomplish limited repair functions under BFS’ Part 145 repair station.
• Develop models and 2D dimensioned prints from simple to complex.
• Assist with mathematical analysis for repair and certification projects.
• Review and develop procedures, substantiations, and certification documents.
• Design, order and integrate tooling and testing equipment.
• Liaise between engineering and other BFS groups to support projects.
